La Maison du Berger – Exclusive Men-Only Retreat in Brittany’s Morbihan Region
Set in the tranquil countryside of Plouhinec, La Maison du Berger offers a distinctive men-only hospitality experience combining comfort, nature and wellness. This architect-designed stone guesthouse features three thoughtfully appointed bedrooms spread across two levels, with special attention to both privacy and communal spaces.
The ground floor impresses with its open-plan living area featuring cathedral ceilings, a fully-equipped kitchen and a dining space that flows seamlessly together. Here guests will find the accessible 20 m² suite complete with king-size bed, private bathroom and direct access to both a private terrace and the heated outdoor spa. Upstairs, two additional bedrooms share a well-lit shower room while maintaining their individual charm through queen-size and standard beds respectively.
A highlight of the property is its year-round 37°C outdoor spa-jacuzzi accommodating up to five guests, complemented by an expansive 8,000 m² landscaped garden that invites naturist enjoyment. The property’s thoughtful amenities include wood-fired heating throughout, creating a cozy atmosphere in all seasons.
Host René brings multiple talents to the experience – as a skilled cook preparing organic regional dishes for guest dinners (available by reservation), and as a trained practitioner offering both wellness and tantric massage therapies. His extensive local knowledge helps guests discover Brittany’s spectacular coastline, including nearby nude beaches and the renowned Grand Site de France dunes.
Practical considerations include bicycle access for local exploration, pet-friendly policies (with three resident Border Collies on site), and an electric vehicle charging station located 4 km away. The property’s countryside setting in the Kerlon hamlet ensures peaceful seclusion while remaining conveniently close to coastal attractions between Quiberon and Concarneau.
