Ocean Beach, located 28 km southeast of Hastings, is a popular destination during the summer months, attracting large crowds, especially near the main car park. The beach is safe when the surf is small, but can become dangerous with waves over one meter. Nudists, mostly men, often head left from the main car park, walking 400-500 meters (or even further) to a more secluded area, out of sight from the main beachgoers. Although there is not much natural shade, walking further along the beach will bring you to a cluster of trees, providing some shelter.
