The Presqu’île de Liausson is a peninsula that extends into the lake (Lac du Salagou) and is approximately 500 meters wide and 1 kilometer long. The small bays on either side of the peninsula serve as popular nude sunbathing areas, where the majority of sunbathers are gay men.
To reach the peninsula, begin by driving north on D156E4 for a few kilometers. Then, turn left (west) onto route D156 for a few kilometers until you reach the hamlet of Liausson. Just past Liausson, turn right onto the first small road that leads to the lake. Weekends, lunchtimes, and immediately after people finish work are the peak times for men to be present at the area. Cruising typically occurs into the evening. The peninsula is approximately 45 minutes from Montpellier.
