On St. Barthélemy (St. Barts or St. Barth), many women go topless, but on the beaches of Anse de Grande Saline and Anse du Gouverneur, total nudity is accepted despite it being technically prohibited. For those wishing to be nude, moving to the farther ends of the beach is recommended. Gay men often gather on the right side, but the atmosphere is relaxed, and everyone finds their preferred spot.
Anse du Gouverneur, just west of Grande Saline, also hosts a small number of nudists who tend to occupy the remote west end. Grande Saline Beach is well-protected by the municipality, ensuring a serene environment free from visible buildings. However, this also means there are no facilities for purchasing drinks or snacks, so visitors should bring their own provisions. After a day at the beach, the nearby restaurant L’Esprit Salines offers excellent food and drinks near the parking lot.
