**Plakias Bay beach** is a large, beautiful stretch of **golden sand** in Crete. The **south-east end** of the beach offers fine sand, with **umbrellas** and **sunbeds**, while the last section of the beach (about **three or four hundred metres**) is primarily a **naturist area**. This section is largely sheltered from the road by **dunes**, providing a more secluded atmosphere for **nudists**.
Though the beach has **showers**, they can sometimes be reduced to a trickle. The **naturist section** is often the most **crowded**, with very few **textile beachgoers** around. To get to the naturist section from the **Plakias village**, it’s about a **15–20 minute walk**. This beach is a popular destination for those seeking a peaceful and social environment for nudism.
