Opoutere Beach, located just off State Highway 25 between the Bay of Plenty and Coromandel, is popular with nudists and features a nearby DOC campground. The nudist area is at the northern end of the beach. It is about a 2-hour drive south of Auckland. The beach can be accessed via a car park with toilet facilities, and a 10-minute walk through a pine wood leads to the beach. Opoutere Beach is a beautiful, wide stretch of sand, sheltered by trees, with shapely islands offshore. The sand slopes gently into the sea, providing a serene and relaxed atmosphere for visitors.
