Collins Beach at Sauvie Island, a 40-minute drive northwest of the city center, is a legally sanctioned clothing-optional beach with a strong gay following since the 1970s. The beach spans one mile and starts about 0.25 miles after Reeder Road turns to gravel. It is open every day from 4:00 am to 10:00 pm.
Look for the sign that says: “Entering Clothing-Optional Area.” Parking is available along the left-hand side of the road, with foot trails to the beach on the right, marked 1 through 6.
