Red Rock Beach, perhaps the most popular nude beach in the Bay Area, is nestled within Mount Tamalpais State Park. Known for its family-friendly atmosphere, social vibe, and a touch of hippie spirit, this small beach is almost entirely nude. The beach’s size shrinks at high tide, so it’s best to arrive early on warm days as it can get crowded. While swimming isn’t recommended due to the conditions, Red Rock remains a beloved spot for naturists.
Located north of San Francisco along CA Highway 1, between Stinson Beach and Muir Beach, Red Rock Beach technically has a nudity ban in place. However, enforcing it among the laid-back crowd here is a different story—after all, convincing a hippie to cover up isn’t easy!
