If you want to be immersed in nature, Bolita is the place for you. Located on over 61 hectares of rainforest in the Golfo Dulce Forest Reserve, this low-impact hostel on Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula offers stunning waterfalls and ocean views. Nestled next to the small gold mining village of Dos Brazos de Rio Tigre, Bolita provides a tranquil escape where you can hear birds and howler monkeys every morning as the sun rises over the Golfo Dulce.
The hostel features an updated kitchen (no refrigeration), a roofed picnic table, and hammocks for relaxation. Sleeping options include dorm-style individual or double beds with mosquito nets, and private cabinas with seating for more privacy. Casa Bolita, a fully-renovated house at the entrance of Bolita, is available starting at $109 per night. All accommodations include access to clothing-optional nature trails.
Bolita operates off-grid using solar panels and batteries, with minimal lighting at night, a telephone charging station, and slow Wi-Fi. Guests must bring their own food, which can be cooked in one of two kitchens equipped with gas stoves, pots, utensils, and dishes, but no refrigeration.
Bolita Hostel and Trails is clothing-optional, except in the kitchens. It is a non-sexual, safe, and respectful environment where everyone is welcome, whether clothed or not. The hostel is closed during the rainy season.
