Pihlajasaari Beach, Helsinki’s premier gay-friendly nudist spot, offers a unique retreat just a short ferry ride from the mainland. Located on the eastern side of Pihlajasaari Island, this designated nude sunbathing area includes a vibrant gay subsection known for its welcoming atmosphere and cruisy vibe.
With rocky cliffs replacing traditional sandy shores, the beach is better suited for sunbathing than swimming. However, its picturesque setting and lively community make it a popular destination, particularly on sunny summer days. Ferries run every 15 to 30 minutes from the end of Laivurinkatu, near Café Carousel. The Finnish summer typically spans from late May to mid-September, making this a prime time to enjoy Pihlajasaari’s unique charm.
