Flaucher, an island nestled in the river Isar, is a popular spot in southern Munich, about 600 meters north of the renowned Munich Zoo (Tierpark Hellabrunn). While nude bathing spots can be found scattered along the Isar throughout Munich, Flaucher stands out as the most popular among these riverbank areas.
Visitors to the pebbly island “beach” can spot nude bathers who are visible to strollers along the east bank of the river. Conveniently located on the west bank of the river is a biergarten, and there are also several food concessions along the riverside trails.
Flaucher attracts a diverse crowd, particularly gay men, and has even garnered its own Facebook page dedicated to this unique beach: “Flaucher – Gay Island.”
